Returns and Exchanges

Alternative Outfitters offers a wide selection of distinctive cruelty-free products. If an item fails to meet your expectations, simply return it and we will replace or exchange the product for you or refund your payment. We will be happy to exchange/return unworn and unopened merchandise within 30 days of receiving your order. Clearance items can be returned for store credit or exchange, but we cannot issue refunds for items purchased in our Clearance section. Irregular Items CANNOT be returned. All sales are final on Irregular Items purchased from our Irregular Items category. We regret that we are unable to accept returns of personal care items (hair care, skin care, & cosmetics) at this time. Please return footwear in the original shoe box and return all other items with the original tags and tickets attached. Please DO NOT ship back shoes without an outer shipping box. The shoe box must be in resalable condition and cannot have shipping labels or tape attached (otherwise $10 will be deducted from the total you are to be credited). If you return an item that is NOT in resalable condition (dirty, worn, damaged, etc.) that item will be returned to you without credit issued.

The customer is responsible for all return shipping fees, unless we have made a mistake on your order by sending you the wrong item, shoe style, color or size, or if an item has arrived damaged, please accept our apologies and follow the instructions below to do an even exchange. Please DO NOT return any items that you received damaged or that were sent incorrectly. We do not reimburse shipping costs. You must contact us regarding the issue. Once we receive your return, please allow up to two weeks for your return to be processed. We recommend getting tracking on your returned package so you’ll know when it arrives in our warehouse.

Refunds
We do not refund original shipping costs and sales tax on shipping with the return. If you had received free shipping because your original order was over $100, we will deduct a shipping fee from your refund if your order total becomes less than $100 due to the return you made. We will issue your refund according to your original method of payment (e.g. credit card, PayPal, store credit, or gift certificate). A credit should appear on your account within two billing cycles. Please note: All returns must be received by us within 30 days from the time you received your order to qualify for a refund, exchange or store credit. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Exchanges
The customer is responsible for all shipping fees to return the items to us. Alternative Outfitters is happy to cover the shipping costs of sending your exchange item(s) to you (to both US and Canadian customers). However, we will not cover shipping costs for additional exchanges. We cannot offer free shipping on exchanges for international customers, other than to Canada.

Damaged Items
When your order arrives, please inspect the carton for any damage that may have occurred during shipment. It is normal for the shipping carton to show some wear, however, if damage occurred to the item(s) in your shipment, please contact us toll free immediately at (866) 758-5837. Please provide the order number along with your email address and phone number for fastest service. To assure prompt resolution, please keep the box, packing materials and the damaged items for inspection by the carrier.
